Top 8 STEM Gifts

We are huge fans of STEM toys in our house. I love the fact that Max can play and learn at the same time, and we always try and get something STEM related for his birthday and Christmas. This year I have put together a gift guide of some of our favourite things to give you a bit of inspiration.

For tots there is the Fisher Price Code-A-Pillar. I absolutely love this toy by Fisher Price, we have already reviewed the Code-A-Pillar and love how simple it is and how there are endless possibilities for fun and games. Max is starting to discover the world around him and we have got him the Discovery Kids Telescope from Think Toys (there will be a review next week as we know he will love it!). I love the fact that he can use it to expand his horizons and discover the stars in the sky.

Of course you can't highlight any STEM toys without mentioning Lego. The Lego Creator Treehouse is a great option as it's part of their 3 in 1 range. That means there are at least 3 different things to make in one set. We love to pick a few of these up and then combine them with the classic brick boxes. Meccano Junior works similar to Lego in the sense that you have different things to create and play with.

We love playing with a Marble Run, not only does Max loves to watch them whoosh down the paths.  The Dinosaur DNA kit is a fantastic way to find your hidden fossil hunter and learn more about excavating bones.  We are huge fans of the Horrible Science Explosive Experiments kit too. It's given us hours of fun and I love buying lots of purse friendly sets to fill stockings with. Finally the Osmo Coding set is another great way to teach kids how to code, which I personally think is majorly important for kids these days.
