I don't know if we planned to have a laid back Easter, but we are nearing the end of the break and can honestly say we don't have much to show for it. But I'm glad. After a manic few months, it's exactly what we needed as a family. A bit of time to relax, time to refocus and unwind and time to get ready for the new term of school.
That's not to say we have cooped ourselves up every day. We try and get out at least once a day, and whether it be to the shops or to the park we've done something as a family. We've met up with friends, seen family and booked a holiday (pictures may have a hint in them!). But it's been at a pace that's a whole lot slower than what we are used to. We've busted out the craft box and made Disney inspired headbands, watched films whilst snuggled together on the sofa and built new worlds out of Lego.
I can honestly say it's been blissful. We have some exciting things planned over the last few days and then it's back to reality and a mountain of work for me to catch up on from when he's been off. But these last two weeks have been slow, unplugged and full of bonding. And it's what we've needed.
