We love exploring local areas and Hengistbury Head is a place that we haven't been to in years. Situated just outside Christchurch, Hengistbury Head comprises of a headland, heathland and small beach that gives you a small slice of paradise on the south coast of England.
During the half term, we wanted to take advantage of the days that were sunny (albeit windy) and decided to head there with Tamsin and Rubi for a few hours of exploring and scooting.
We decided to walk up the head before walking along and down the steps. It meant that for us it was easier as we didn't have to carry scooters up flights of stairs! And the kids loved going as high as they could until they felt on top of the world.
Once up on the head, you have some breathtaking views of the sea and the natural landscape. For us it was fairly windy so we made a move and let the kids wild on their scooters to take everything in (whilst we took lots of photos!)
I love discovering new places and re-discovering old favourites with Max. It's a fantastic way for us to explore the local landscape for free and also have a great day out. With a sandwich packed and the sun shining, we had a fantastic day at Hengistbury Head.
I'm looking forward to ticking a few more places off our list and it's inspired me to looking at getting a National Trust pass to take advantage of the brilliant places locally and further afield. I'm so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place and I can't wait to capture it all.
