2013 was a year of ups and downs for us. We had amazing experiences with friends and family and we also had a bit of turmoil and heart ache. Kerry at Oh So Amelia and Lloyds Bank are hosting a competition for us bloggers to talk about those moments that really mattered for us last year.
We got engaged! It feels like a million years ago but also like it was only yesterday. In the middle of Leicester Square. To say it was a little bit romantic was an understatement! I love Scott to pieces and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him. Also this photo always reminds me that I need to sort out chipped nail varnish!
On a sad note my grandad passed away this year. A couple of weeks before me and Scott got engaged, thankfully he was told and I'm so glad he got the opportunity to meet Max. Alzheimers is such a horrible disease that I wouldn't wish on anyone. But his memory lives on and I'm still convinced he's around telling Max to get up to mischief.
Max experienced lots of firsts this year. One being his first proper snow day. It snowed on the day he was born but this year we managed to make the most of it and build snow men in the car park and throw snowballs at daddy. We also found out that Max really doesn't like it when you throw snow at him!
We also went on our first family holiday. We all took a trip down to Butlin's in Bognor for a week of fun and adventure. To see Max's face when he met his favourite characters and saw them dance on stage was worth every penny. We are so fortunate to have also been picked as Butlin's ambassadors for the year so have another holiday to look forward to in May (less than 100 sleeps to go!)
And finally Scott graduated. I was so proud to see him walk across that stage and get his degree. Knowing everything we have been through to get to this stage was a tough one it was the biggest moment of pride. Me, Max and his parents cheered along and although we don't have full time jobs, nor a permanent place to live to know that we succeeded in parenting and studying is an achievement in itself.
I don't really know what 2014 will hold. Hopefully a place to call home and a decent salary under our belts. But knowing I have my family around me is all need for now. The moments that mattered were the ones closest to my heart.
Lovely uplifting post
