Yes my son wears a tutu

And no I don't have a problem with that.

I was going to write a huge essay about how messed up gender stereotypes for kids are. But I feel it keeps on being repeated over again and society has hit a brick wall. I still don't understand how a 3 year old gets judgment for wearing something commonly associated with the opposite gender. Max wears pink, tutus, dresses, leggings for a variety of different reasons from play time to the fact thats what he feels comfortable in them. Am I to stop him from expressing himself or enjoying what he is doing? And are those snide comments supposed to stop me from letting him run around with a tutu on like he did yesterday? Of course not. Because at the end of the day he is 3, he is not hurting anyone and most importantly he is having fun.

One day we will look back on gender stereotypes and laugh. What century that is I have no idea but at the moment I still feel like we have people that are far from accepting.

Let kids be kids.
