Our Favourite Picture Books : September Edition

I've not done this for a while but thought with a new house and a new school year it was only fitting to restart our favourite book collection in a monthly series. Picture books are amazing things. Not only are they full of gorgeous illustrations, the stories are normally rich in morals and meanings.

A Possum's Tail - This tale is great! A walk around London in a book. Follow a boy and his dog along some memorable sights to the zoo and find some unexpected friends follow on the way home! Fairly long in the sense of a picture book but one that kids will love due to the interesting pictures.

Mine!- A stylish and bold story about sharing with two loveable characters. It's a great story for teaching children about the concept of sharing and also showing them that there might be something better around the corner.

Blown Away - A wonderful sing song rhyme tale about a penguin, a kite and their intrepid adventure. The illustrations are lovely and it's great to know that the author test drives the books on his kids first. One that will definitely stay on the bookshelf for years to come.

Specs for Rex - I love this book. I love Rex's specs. But Rex doesn't like them. This is the story of how Rex tries to hide his glasses but eventually must learn to love them. It's a great book for introducing glasses to kids at a time where the idea can be a bit overwhelming.

What books are your kid's loving at the moment?
