My 2015: in review

2015 has definitely been one of those mixed years. It started off on a high. Work was great, the blog was great and we were really strong as a family. We had a great holiday at Butlins and got to meet the wonderful McFly boys on more than one occasion (props to how amazing they are with Max!)

When June struck we had a bit of a change in luck. Max ended up hospitalised after a collision with a slow cooker and after an operation that terrified us he began the slow and steady process of healing the multiple burns he got. To say he was brave through it all was an understatement. He's shown us just how strong a little man he is and all I can do is thank the amazing staff at Salisbury burns unit and Nix his amazing outreach nurse.

September was a massive month for us. Max started school and is thriving and loving it more than we could expect. I also joined the Young Women's Trust. A charity aimed at supporting young women and trying to combat the in exhaling they face in work, education and life. It's so amazing to be surrounded by these inspirational women that I can't actually wait to see them all again in March!

We've had plenty of wonderful experiences this year. From theatre visits to trips away. It's been wonderful to grab those little moments when we can and make the most of them. We've made some amazing new friends in the parents at Max's school and the kids have just blended together into one group.

Looking forward to 2016 I know it's going to be filled with love and laughter. I've got a social media training course to start, Scott's looking to develop his screenwriting, Max is still as determined as ever to be on the stage in some way. We have a wonderful trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tours to plan with the Castle clan, a zipwire adventure to watch as my mum and her partner fly across the Bournemouth Pier and hopefully a weekend away to London planned so we can show Max the sights.

2016 is also going to be the year of goodbyes. My brother and his girlfriend will be leaving for Australia and my mum and her partner moving to Tenerife. It's going to be a strange year but with Scott and Max by my side we can achieve anything we want!
