My Digital Mums Journey So Far

Since becoming a mum I have wanted to try and become self employed and work more from home so I can spend more time with my family. Being a blogger has left me obsessed with social media so starting on my Digital Mums journey was a no-brainer.

For those that don't know, Digital Mums want to turn mums into social media managers and enable them to work from home in a way that fits around their childcare. What I love most about the course is that I can fit it in with my life. I'm a busy person but I manage to squeeze in a couple of hours a day to schedule things, do lessons and hangout with my peer group.

For your course you create and run a locally based campaign from a choice of topics. I chose the arts one and have been championing Arts In Dorset ever since (please go and give it a like/favourite!). I then decided to expand that and have just started #GiveItSomeArts where I am daring the digital parent community to embrace creativity and get moving and grooving with your kids (Max is always dancing in the supermarket!).

I've loved the course so far, and now I'm about 3/4 of the way through it's really started to get tough. But that's the fun part! I love the way I can have this little piece of the internet that I can show people and go "I made this campaign work and I would love to work for you". The Digital Mums community is amazing and so helpful and I can't wait to finish and see what I can add to the alumni list!

  1. I'm on the same journey. Week 11 for me. Absolutely loving it! Stressful to start. But finally had that same lightbulb moment this week! Just hoping for success freelance, to enable a full career change plus a work/life/health balance - fingers crossed! All the best. X
