Geomag Magicube Review and Competiton

There's something about building blocks that are fun for kids of any age from 1 to 100. The simple idea of building something up and knocking it down, or creating a structure from your imagination is one that is perfect for all kids.

Geomag have tapped into this simplicity and added some of their magic to create some amazing new building blocks that are a little bit special and a lot of fun!

Geomag kindly sent us over two of the packs of their Magicube sets, the polar animals and safari ones.  Both are suitable for children from 18 months, which is perfect in this household as we are always looking after friends little ones and find that the older Max gets, the less toys we have to choose from.

Fortunately we have been looking after one of our friend's daughters recently, so I had the perfect little hands to test alongside Max! The polar set comes with 8 bricks, whilst the safari set comes with 14 bricks for children to play with. One thing that I love about this set is the fact it's so easy for any age to grab and play with. Us adults have even had a fantastic time playing with them too!

Geomag Magicubes are building bricks with a difference. Each brick is magnetised so that you can piece them together without the risk of them falling at the peril of little hands. Whilst normal magnets have sides that can repel, this isn't the case with Magicubes and they work on any side you attach. I loved this feature as even I know how frustrating it is when things won't align or stick together. The blocks are big enough for little hands but also sturdy enough for older kids to enjoy playing with too.

Not only that, but they are also cleverly designed with 4 different building ideas to create wildlife animals to play and challenge. The design cards are a mix of 2d and 3d creations to challenge all ages at their building expertise. Whilst the little ones really struggled with the 3d building, Max loved the challenge and forward thinking of trying to construct the animal. With a school topic all about conservation, it really helped us talk about each of the animals as we made them together.

Whilst these sets aren't the cheapest, they are definitely built to last and will stand the test of time for years to come no matter the age of the child. We absolutely love them and can't wait to add some more to our collection! Thank you so much to Geomag for allowing us to review these products, it's truly becoming one of our most used toys currently.
