My Fair Lady - UK Tour Review

Following a short summer residency at the London Coliseum last year, the classic musical My Fair Lady is now embarking on a UK Tour to entertain the masses. After originating at the Lincoln Centre Theatre, it then took the West End by storm with rave reviews, so I couldn't wait to see how loverly this show could truly be.

Currently showing at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton until 29th January, My Fair Lady immerses you in the streets of 1913 London and takes you on a journey of class, relationships, and the wonder of the spoken word.

Dick Whittington - All Saints Dramatic Society

I am a huge fan of local productions and supporting local dramatic societies. Away from the glitz and glam of the West End and UK tours, you can find a wealth of talent and creativity in your local community. The All Saints Dramatic Society have been entertaining the Bournemouth community for the past 70 years. Comprised of performers from the local area, the group perform two shows and a pantomime every year alongside musical revues and community events.

This year, their pantomime was Dick Whittington, the tale of a young man who heads to London to find his fortune. Written and directed by Phil Vivian, I headed to the Corpus Christi Parish Centre in Boscombe, Bournemouth to watch this fun and enjoyable pantomime.

The Cher Show - UK Tour Review

Cher is nothing short of a legend. An Icon. A Diva. She is someone that has transcended decades and is still the goddess of pop that we know and love. The Cher Show is a musical that takes us on the wild and often rocky rollercoaster that is Cher's life. From the modest upbringing in California to her whirlwind romances, this show packs over seven decades worth of history into a 2hr 30min show that has more sequins, glitter, and wigs than an episode of RuPaul's Drag Race.

Embarking on a tour before testing the waters in the West End can sometimes be a fall at the first hurdle, but the waves of positive reviews of this show left me eager to believe that it could be something wonderful. And as it hit the Mayflower Theatre stage, it most certainly was nothing short of spectacular.
