Working in a bookshop means that we are always creating displays for different occasions. We had the smart idea last year to create some chalkboards around the store so I could use quotes and pictures to tell customers about events or things we loved.
I tend to share my images over on Twitter and Instagram, so when Chalkola got in touch with me to ask if I wanted to try their range of chalk pens I couldn't wait as quite frankly, the ones I've got in the past haven't been too inspiring colour wise!
Watadventure Personalised Book Review
Friday, 20 January 2017
As huge bookworms, we love it when we find something that's new fun and different. So when we were introduced to Watadventure, a new personalised adventure book. We couldn't wait to see what was in store for us. Watadventure is a site where you can create personalised books that take your child on a journey to another country. The book is highly customisable and is produced in a hardback full of rich colours and gorgeous images. The story takes the main character on an adventure to India with the help of Sirius the dog and the Watabus.
Tracking my Reading with my Bullet Journal
Tuesday, 17 January 2017
I read ALOT. To the point that I forget the majority of books I read, and the ones I do remember seem to blur into one at times. I've tried things like Goodreads and other online sites to track my reading, but there is nothing like writing down your thoughts on a piece of paper.
I'm a massive fan of the Bullet Journal system, it keeps things simple but allows you to adapt the style to meet your needs. I decided that I wanted to create a bullet journal just for my reading. I knew I wanted to include reviews and overviews of the year. I spent a long time researching and found that Stacie from Parker and Me did an amazing set up of her reading log. I tweaked and changed a few bits to make it suitable for me and then couldn't wait to get started.
Back To School With Kipling
Wednesday, 11 January 2017
Since Max has started year 1 he seems to have grown up overnight. No longer does he want me to walk him into the playground, and he cringes when I kiss him goodbye in front of all his friends. Mister Independent is ready to take on the school year, and whilst he's loving not being the smallest in the school; Year 1 has also brought him more homework, more projects and for him, more books to read!
Unfortunately the book bag we got when he first started school is no longer cutting it. We can't fit everything in and we were on the lookout for a rucksack that would tick all the boxes. So when we were asked if we wanted to review the Kipling Clas Seoul bag, we couldn't wait to put it to the test.
