Easter Shows for Families in Dorset and Hampshire

I can't believe that the Easter holidays are rolling round so soon. It feel like only yesterday that it was Half Term and we were headed off to the theatre for fun and games. This Easter holiday what's on guide is filled with fantastic theatre in the Dorset and Hampshire area. We can't wait to see some of the shows and hope you have a fab time too.

On Tuesday 3rd April, Braniac Live takes to the Lighthouse in Poole to amaze and wonder boys and girls from child through to adults. Watch as they explode things before your eyes and perform dare devil stunts that will leave you glued to your seats in wonder. It's perfect for those science fanatics big and small.

Taking things down a peg or two on the 10th and 11th April, the folks from Norwell Lapley Productions are putting on a performance of Dear Zoo at the Lighthouse too. Watch as the classic book is brought to life as the characters Ben and Sally discover what is in each package from the zoo. Perfect for little ones that are just being introduced to the theatre.

Finally the Lighthouse have the fantastic Gingerbread Man take to the stage on the 13th April. Watch as our lovely gingerbread man takes to the streets to outwit everyone and save himself from being eaten. Is he the bravest biscuit? Well you'll just have to come and watch this performance from the team that brought us the wonderful Three Little Pigs at Christmas.

Over at the Mayflower in Southampton, you can catch the most Awful Auntie of all from the 4th-7th April. Based on the book by David Walliams, this play is one that will have you answering questions and helping Stella find out what really happened to her family.

For the older children, the Mayflower is hosting Matthew Bourne's adaptation of Cinderella. It's definitely not suitable for little ones, but is set to be a beautiful version of the classic tale that we all know and love. It's on between the 27th and 31st March.

The Nuffield Campus Theatre in Southampton is having a Noisy Holiday from the 5th-6th May. Packed with fun and interactivity, this show has everything from singing and dancing to puppetry and animation. One that will definitely get kids laughing and loving theatre.
