Urban Reef Bournemouth Review

I love supporting local businesses and local restaurants are definitely top of the list. When you find somewhere that ticks the boxes for fantastic food with a beautiful view, you know it's going to become a firm favourite. I was recently invited to try out Urban Reef, so took a friend along to see how great their food was.

Urban Reef is part of the Urban Guild group and is situated on Boscombe seafront, just past Boscombe pier. With a terrace, mezzanine and an outdoor style eating arrangement, it's the perfect way to soak up the sun whilst you're eating some fantastic food.

Urban Reef boasts that it has some of the best beach views and I have to agree with them. It honestly felt like we had been transported to a tropical island as we sipped our homemade lemonade and watched the surfers on the water. It was relaxing yet felt like a bustling corner of the seafront at the same time. I can honestly say that the location was perfect and wasn't like anywhere I had ever eaten before.

With fantastic servers that really helped with everything from recommending dishes to helping with a little one that was a tad hot and bothered, they were honestly fantastic. They were really attentive and made sure that we were happy with our meal throughout.

There's a great selection of food on offer, with everything from burgers to tapas and fish and chips. Of course when you see something on the menu named after the restaurant group you have to try it. So I went for the Urban Guild Burger. It was massive. A great burger (that I only managed half of it was so big!) along with some hand made chips that were literally a dream! I also opted for a side salad that was pretty tasty and refreshing.

My friend went for nachos with pulled pork and cheese on top. The portions are massive and are brilliant of you are looking to share a light bite between you. With a generous helping of nachos, refried beans and topping, there was a great side platter of guacamole, salsa and sour cream. I did sneak a couple of bites and thought it tasted absolutely brilliant.

I can honestly say that the portion sizes were fantastic, and with an average price or around £14 per dish, it's totally reasonable too. We were saying as we were leaving that we would 100% be coming back in the summer months with the other school mums whilst the kids are at school. It was such a fantastic meal that we left with full bellies and big grins on our faces.

Thank you so much Urban Reef for looking after us and giving us a meal that we won't be forgetting for a long time (especially as I want to steal the recipe for the chips!). It was a fantastic lunch and one that will be highly recommended from us and we can't wait to come back.
