The Christmasaurus Live

This year, me and Max have been consciously trying to go to the theatre more. My love of musicals has rubbed off on him and if we don't have a soundtrack on in the car, it's normally because Scott is fed up of hearing us sing them! Last year I booked tickets to see The Christmasaurus Live on stage, an adaptation of the book by Tom Fletcher. In all honesty I bought the tickets as I loved the book and was intrigued to see what it was going to be like on stage.

The Snowman- BSO at Lighthouse Poole

There's something about The Snowman that makes him a bit of a British institute. The swooping sounds and the cinematic scenes of a boy and his much loved snowman heading on a night-time adventure. It's one that's been loved through generations of our family and we've definitely passed the love onto Max. This year, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra took to the stage at the Lighthouse Poole and accompanied the film for an evening of festive fun.

Cinderella - Lighthouse Poole Review

I have to admit, panto season is one of my favourite times of year What other time can you go to the theatre as a family and leave crying with laughter and full of so much joy that you want to spend the rest of the week shouting 'It's behind you!" whenever your child asks where their socks are. Going to the panto has always been a tradition in our family. Being massive theatre lovers, it makes sense to head down to our local theatre each Christmas and soak up the magic on stage. This year the Lighthouse at Poole put on a star studded performance of Cinderella, and boy was it a star of a show!

Three Little Pigs - Lighthouse Poole

We head to the theatre each Christmas without fail. It's honestly one of our favourite times of year, with a fantastic range of shows on from west end hits to small local productions. Every year we tend to head to the Lighthouse at Poole to watch their family friendly studio show. There's been some amazing shows in the past and it always blows us away with creativity and engagement. This year was Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company's retelling Three Little Pigs and we couldn't wait!

Meeting Santa at Sealife Weymouth

Going to see Santa is something that we love to do each Christmas. The experience of the grotto and meeting the man himself really puts me in the Christmas spirit and Max loves getting to tell him exactly what he wants. This year we were invited to Sealife Weymouth to experience their grotto and festive offerings and we couldn't wait!

Some Kind Of Wonderful Event.

The one thing that I miss the most since leaving Waterstones is the events. I absolutely adore chatting with authors, being able to get hints and tips about writing and just being in the presence of people that I truly admire. A few weeks ago, I got a call from my store asking if I could do a bit of a favour for them and interview one of their authors that was coming in for a talk. That author was the one and only Giovanna Fletcher.
