Yungblud - Life On Mars Tour Review - Bournemouth O2 Academy

Yungblud is an artist that I've admired since Max introduced him to me. He's an artist that Max has obsessed over to the point of dressing as him for Halloween and forcing us to listen to the same 5 songs on repeat. But he's an artist that is passionate and knows what he believes in and is unapologetic about his approach to voicing those beliefs. As a teacher that supports students with ADHD, it's so pleased to see that he talks about his diagnosis so frankly and honestly for an inspiration to those neuro-divergent fans.

When tickets for his show at the O2 Academy in Bournemouth were released I was poised, I was ready. What I wasn't expecting was to be one of the first 50 to have purchased tickets. Therefore allowing this 10 year old who idolises this artist to meet him. With the uncertainties of Covid-19, we were unsure of what would happen. But we counted down the months and the day finally happened.

McFly - Young Dumb Thrills Tour review - Bournemouth BIC

McFly are one of those bands that have been part of my life for as long as I can remember loving music. They have somehow been around for 18 years and that makes me feel so incredibly old that I can't actually believe it.

I'm one of those parents that let's their child find their own musical interests, but definitely spent those formative years playing their own favourite songs and bands on loop to try and get some stuck in their head! Fortunately it worked a treat and Max shares most musical interests with me and Scott, whilst also finding new music and bands to interest us too!

Way back in 2019, McFly announced that they would be going on a tour and coming to the BIC in Bournemouth. Of course I had to have tickets. I have yet to miss a tour in those 18 years they have been around, and of course when the date was finally rescheduled for 2021 we decided to bring Max along for the ride. And boy was it a wild one!

Blood Brothers UK Tour Review - Mayflower Southampton

Tell me it's not true, say it's just a story. At least that's what audiences hope as they watch the opening of Blood Brothers as it took to the Mayflower stage on it's UK tour this week. As blood is shed and lives are lost, you are retold the story of two brothers, one rich, one poor and the fate that tied the two of them together.

Blood Brothers is one of the most highly acclaimed pieces of British theatre in generations. With an audience full of old, young and a lot of teenagers, you can see why this award winning show is not only a GCSE staple, but also a firm fan favourite. I was invited to see the shoe at the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton on it's leg of the UK tour and I honestly couldn't wait!

9 to 5 the Musical UK Tour Review - Mayflower Southampton

Working 9-5, what a way to make a living. That is if you're not a woman who has to navigate the misogyny of the workplace whilst juggling childcare, home life and the barriers to job progression. 9 to 5 The Musical is a show that has been around in some form or other for 40 years, you could hope that there would be some real progression in that time. But with the rise of the #MeToo movement and the gender pay gap still existing, it seems like the show is more relevant than ever.

Opening the UK tour in Southampton at the Mayflower Theatre, Max and I were fortunate enough to tumble out of bed and stumble to the theatre for a rip roaring show that had the audience on their feet clapping and cheering.
