Shrek The Musical UK Tour Review - Mayflower Southampton

Shrek is one of those films that everyone knows and loves. Full of fairy tales, fun and a loveable ogre. One that even the film has everyone tapping their toes and dancing in their seats. I remember seeing the film and absolutely loving it from the moment I first watched it. It's one that Max has watched countless times, and I'm so glad it's on Netflix now, or the DVD would have probably broken under the sheer weight of repeat watches!

It's also been a musical for a decade now and has been on my wish list for about the same length of time. Now with a brand new cast, direction from Nigel Harman and a few show tweaks along the way, it's finally making it's way back around the UK for everyone to watch and love again. The Shrek the Musical UK Tour finally hit Southampton and the Mayflower Theatre invited me and Max to see if we were believers of this fab show.

Jacamo Clothing Review

I always find buying clothes for Scott a bit of a chore. Most of the clothes look the same or they are far from what he would wear, also he has fairly long legs so struggles to find something he likes in the shops. So when Jacamo set me a task to see what I could find for him on their website I couldn't wait.

SIX the Musical Review

Nothing pleases me more than a brand new musical that has me grinning from ear to ear and singing along to the already downloaded soundtrack on the way home. And as soon as I had heard about a musical based on the wives of Henry VIII I was EXCITED. Six the musical is one that delves into the history and truly comes alive on stage.

Whilst it's true that we may have a bit of a theme at the moment with new musicals being based on parts of history, I am all for learning whilst I'm listening. With the likes of Hamilton and Sylvia recently filling my top musical spots, this was music to my ears when I went to see it at the Nuffield Theatres Southampton recently.

The Best Christmas Shows in Dorset and Hampshire 2018

Heading to the theatre at Christmas is probably one of our favourite things about the season (apart from spending time with family!). But with so many shows on, it's hard to decide what one is best for you and your family. That's why I've comprised a handy list of some of my top picks for you to enjoy. I've covered both Hampshire and Dorset and included everything from pantomimes to plays and musicals to tempt everyone through the theatre doors.

Remember, if you're unsure of taking your child to the theatre, read my posts for Top Tips for the Theatre With Kids and Family Theatre - Why You Should Go.

Work It Out - Life Changing Coaching

I've been freelancing since July 2017 and whilst it's had it's benefits, it's also had it's downfalls. With the freedom of being your own boss, there was also the added insecurity of not knowing when an invoice would be paid and when you might eventually be dropped. Just over a year after I begun the freelance life I was dropped by two clients through no fault of my own. I had hit a mini rock bottom and I didn't know where to turn.

One Day In December - Josie Silver

When One Day In December dropped through my letterbox it felt like Mumsnet had read my mind. I've been stuck in a bit of a thriller reading rut and needed something light hearted and happy to get out of it. That's not to say that I don't love the heavy going, mind boggling twists that thrillers hold, it's just that with the weather turning I needed something warm and cosy. And this book by Josie Silver ticked all the boxes.
