Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - BBLOC Review

When I was growing up, one of my fondest memories was my mum singing me songs from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang around the house. It's a simple memory that I've passed down to share with me and Max, and when he was a lot younger I would sing Hushabye Mountain to him to get to sleep.

Hearing that Bournemouth & Boscombe Light Opera Company (BBLOC) were putting on the musical that captured my childhood, I couldn't wait to take Max and my mum to see it at the Bournemouth Pavilion! To have the opportunity to live nostalgically for one evening was exactly what we needed to end the summer holidays. We were off to see Chitty and the gang!

Lego Ocean Explorers at Sea Life Weymouth

This summer holidays for us have been jam packed and full of fun adventures with friends and a day out at Sea Life Weymouth was another to add to the list. Me and AK from The German Wife decided to take our kids on a fun filled adventure to explore the deep sea at Sea Life Weymouth.

Madagascar the Musical Review - Kings Theatre, Portsmouth

Madagascar is one of those films that has been played in our house more times than I can count. There's something so wonderful about watching these fantastic creatures venture into the wild and back throughout the film. So when we heard it had been turned into Madagascar the Musical we were pretty excited, and an invite to watch it at the Kings Theatre,  Portsmouth meant that we were counting down the days!

Suneez Sunglasses Review

I think I've lost count of the amount of sunglasses we have gone through this summer, let alone the past few years. Most end up broken, damaged or even lost in the weeks and months that follow buying them. I've honestly got to the point of despair and have given up trying to find long lasting sunglasses for Max. That was until Suneez recently approached me to review a pair of their sunglasses. After hearing lots about them, I couldn't wait to give them a go.

Travel Games from John Adams

This year we are actually off on a proper summer holiday. I don't remember the last time I first of all boarded a plane, and secondly went away in the summer holidays! This year we are off to Bulgaria and all of us are really excited to head out and have some time to relax without the stress of work and cleaning!

To prepare us, I'm already packing Max's hand luggage with lots of things to occupy the 3.5 hour flight and John Adams kindly sent us some of their new travel games to keep up entertained. Of course we had to play with them first to test them out.

July Book Round Up

July was a bumper month of reading for me. I don't know if it was the procrastination or the trying to set time aside, but I managed to get through 6 books and started a 7th! After heading to the HarperCollins Big Book 18 event in June, I wanted to read through some of those books as my collection is now piled up in our lounge and Scott is getting a tad annoyed with my hoard!

I have to say that I was blown away with pretty much everything I read this month. I was also expecting them to be good as nearly everything is by an author I've already read and enjoyed.

Camp Bestival 2018: Saturday Review

Day 2 at Camp Bestival was an exciting day. With a stellar line up, lots of sunshine forecast and friends with us, we couldn't wait to get stuck in. As I mentioned in my previous post, this year we brought along our friends that were festival newbies and both of them were excited to discover some new places. We had a list of things that we wanted to see and do so we couldn't wait to get into the arena!

Unfortunately this turned out to be our last day at Camp Bestival as the rest of the event was called off due to adverse weather. Luckily we had made the most of the previous two days and here's what we got up to on day 2.

Camp Bestival 2018: Friday Review

Camp Bestival is turning into a bit of a ritual for us as a family. It kick starts the summer holiday and also is a fantastic way to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately for everyone, the Sunday of the festival was cancelled this year due to adverse weather condition. But we still had a fantastic weekend on Friday and Saturday.

This year, we brought along our friends Tamsin and Rubi to enjoy the fun with us. Having never experienced a festival before, they couldn't wait to see what it was all about, immerse themselves in the festival life we love so much and find out why Camp Bestival is so special.

Lullaby - Leila Slimani Review

When the summer comes around the only thing that I really want to read is thrillers. There's something about the sun that brings out the detective in me and I absolutely can't get enough of them. It's halfway through the year of reading with Mumsnet as part of their Mumsnet Book Club and I am absolutely adoring the mix of books that we have read. I've honestly had my eyes opened to new authors and genres that I would never have read before!

Lullaby by Leila Slimani is August's Book Club book and my was it a good one! A French thriller based around who you really trust with your baby, why I couldn't put it down!
