Bowling For Soup - Bournemouth 02 Academy

 Bowling for Soup are a band that take me back to my teenage years. Having formed 28 years ago, this band have truly stood the test of time and are arguably masters of their craft. They are currently on their Surf the UK tour all around the UK and came to Bournemouth to show the sunny seaside town how to party like they've never partied before. 

This tour they brought their pals The DollyRots, Matt Stocks on DJ duties and the legends that are Lit along for the ride. We decided to bring our own buddy in the shape of Max who was beyond excited to see a band that he absolutely loves on stage. Heading to the Bournemouth O2 Academy, Boscombe, we couldn't wait to rock out.

Stand Atlantic - Electric Ballroom

I am one of those people that still listens to the same music that they did when they were 14/15. It's not that new music isn't good, it's just I don't have time like I did when I was younger to sit and listen to every new band to find that diamond in the rough. Sometimes though my Spotify playlist throws a new song into the mix and I find an absolute headbanger of a tune. 

That's what happened when we discovered Stand Atlantic. An Australian band that sing songs that just transport me back to standing in a gig venue as a 15 year old, screaming along to songs at the top of my lungs. So when Scott surprised me with tickets to see them in London, you can bet I was excited! Alas the weather wanted to prevent us from going (it was the weekend of the the storm to end all storms), but in all honesty, we were ready to battle whatever weather in order to be at the Electric Ballroom.

Victorious Festival 2019 - Sunday Review

After two glorious days at Victorious Festival we couldn't wait for our final day. With a bittersweet feeling that the end was near, we had a list of things that we wanted to see and do. Of course plans never go the way they want, but we were surprised at how much we managed to tick off our list! This time around we had not only Max's cousins joining us, but nearly the whole family heading down for the day. Because when they say that Victorious is a family festival, they mean it's a family festival as there is something for everyone.

Victorious Festival 2019 - Saturday Review

Day one of Victorious Festival was full of glorious sunshine, brilliant music and a well needed early night. Day two of Victorious was set to be hotter, and even more jam packed than the day before. With our suncream on, water bottles at the ready and on the first park and ride bus of the day, we were off! After a brilliant Friday, we couldn't wait to show Scott what the festival had in store for 2019. And with so many great new additions for us to explore we got stuck right in for day two of Max's favourite weekend of the year.

Victorious Festival 2019 - Friday Review

One of our favourite weekends of the year is Victorious Festival. It's a festival that if you know us personally, or online you know that we go on about more than any other family event in the year. Set in the heart of Portsmouth on Southsea Common, Victorious is the perfect family festival that's not only affordable, but jam packed with amazing things to do throughout the whole weekend.

Victorious 2018 Friday Review

As always, Victorious Festival is our favourite way to end the summer holidays. Not only do we get to see Scott's parents for the weekend (well use their place as a crash pad!), but we also get to listen to some fantastic music in a great community atmosphere. There's something fantastic about Victorious that has us loving it year after year and always wanting to go back. 

This year was no different. With a stellar line up, we decided to head down for the Friday evening to check out some of the music on this condensed first day.

Camp Bestival 2018: Friday Review

Camp Bestival is turning into a bit of a ritual for us as a family. It kick starts the summer holiday and also is a fantastic way to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately for everyone, the Sunday of the festival was cancelled this year due to adverse weather condition. But we still had a fantastic weekend on Friday and Saturday. 

This year, we brought along our friends Tamsin and Rubi to enjoy the fun with us. Having never experienced a festival before, they couldn't wait to see what it was all about, immerse themselves in the festival life we love so much and find out why Camp Bestival is so special.

Every year we seem to countdown the days until it's festival season. There's something magical about spending a weekend in a festival that feels like another world. Whether it's a local one that's full of our friends and local artists, or a massive festival where there is something new at every turn, we can't get enough. Big Fish Little Fish Bournemouth

Before we had Max, we were the stereotypical students. Going on nights out, drinking a little bit too much and staying out all night eating some dodgy chips as we stumble back to someones house. Having Max in the middle of uni put an abrupt stop to that. But we've swapped nights out for family festivals, and much more kid centric events. That's not to say we can't have some fun, so we joined Big Fish Little Fish over at the Old Fire Station, Bournemouth to get stuck into their family friendly rave!

Camp Bestival 2017 - Grown Ups Review

We are a massive festival family. We love to soak in the atmosphere, listen to amazing music and don't mind getting stuck in the mud if the great British weather pours down. We were kindly invited to attend Camp Bestival with Dorset Cereals to celebrate the festivals 10th birthday.

We honestly couldn't wait to dance, sing and have as much fun as we had the last time we went. And with a cracking line up and my birthday to celebrate, we were counting down the days until we could go! I've decided to split my review into the grown ups one and the kid's one as Max has far too much to say about the festival!

Victorious Festival: The Food, Music and More!


Last weekend we were invited to Victorious Festival. I've already written about the fantastic kids area, but here is the review for the rest of the festival antics. Victorious Festival is set in Southsea Portsmouth and is two days with no camping. At £35 a day for adults and £7 a day for kids, this festival is definitely on the purse friendly side. Not only that, it's accessible for all which is fantastic and means the community can really get involved and behind this festival
