Magic Goes Wrong UK Tour Review - Mayflower Southampton

Mischief Theatre are a company that push comedic theatre to its limits. They are a company that blend reality and illusion and rip up the theatrical rule book to create shows that aren't quite what they seem, and don't always end how you expect them to (mostly with disastrous results!). We absolutely adore the company and watch their Goes Wrong Show on TV on repeat. We also tuned into a few of the Mischief Movie Night In's which were full of improv and hilarity from start to finish.

After teaming up with the magical legends that are Penn and Teller, Mischief Theatre have created a new show. A magic show no less, that is like no other. Where things can go right, go wrong and will leave you feeling amazed, astounded, and all together wondering if anything else could possibly happen on this magical night.

Magic Goes Wrong is heading out on its first UK tour after taking the West End by storm, and it took to the Mayflower Theatre stage in Southampton for its first round of mishaps. We were fortunate to be invited along to see what could really go wrong?

Black Cherry Improv Night

Max and I absolutely adore theatre that can make us laugh. If Max is barely able to breathe through laughing so much at the end because it's so funny, then it's a winner. Mischief theatre are normally our go-to for shows that make us laugh until our bellies hurt. But with the opening of a new venue in town, I think we might have found a worthy match!

Black Cherry are a Bournemouth based improv group that run regular nights of fun and hilarity. Having recently just opened their own cafe and performance space in Boscombe high street, they now have the ability to host regular improv nights, comedy nights and showcase local talent to their hearts content. All with a slice of scrummy pizza and a drink!

Top Spooky Movie Musicals to Watch

Spooky season is upon us. And with the ghosts and ghouls creeping among us, there's no time like the present to wrap up warm, grab some popcorn and pop on a spooky movie musical to scare and excite those big and small. I've got a selection of some that will get your toes tapping as well as curling!

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert UK Tour Review - Mayflower Theatre, Southampton

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert is a show that is unapologetically fearless, fun and fabulous. It's a show that has wowed audiences for years and continues to do so on its UK tour in 2021. Not a show to shy away from issues about LGBTQ+ rights and the fight for equality, this show feels just as relevant as it was when it first took to the stage in 2006.

Bursting with glitter, big wigs and bigger costumes, this show brought the house down as it took to the Mayflower Theatre, Southampton stage. I took Max along with me (as he is partial to a flamboyant show or two!) and we honestly had the time of our lives!
