A Disney Wishlist

I am a HUGE Disney obsessive. And with my holiday creeping closer and closer, I wanted to put together a bit of a dream wishlist of things that are on my radar. Most of the items are either well out of my price range, or things that would just sit on display looking pretty in my house. But with a theme of Disney, they are all things that I absolutely adore.

Whilst I tend to go for products from The Disney Store for accessories or EMP for clothes, they tend to be similar style or design. I wanted to try and find things that are out of the box.

Our West End Wish List

Since Max was little, we have surrounded ourselves with the love of theatre and luckily it's rubbing off on him too. He's become as obsessed as me and loved to listen to his favourite soundtracks from morning until night. We are fortunate to attend lots of local theatre performances and Max loves being part of Stagewise school of the performing arts too.

Whilst we try and see as many shows as we can, the price soon adds up. So we try and limit ourselves to one big show and several smaller shows throughout the year. That means that our West End Wish List is building and growing. I thought I would share a list of some of the shows we are most excited to see (when we get the chance)

  5. Storyteller Pencils
  6. Children's Literature Map
  7. When In Doubt Go To The Library T-Shirt

Wednesday Wishlist: Blogging Wishlist

I love blogging, we have a great little corner in our flat with a disk that I can scurry and write away at. Having said that, A girl can dream about making her blogging space that little bit better right?

  • Apple Macbook Pro - My Mac is dying a slow and painful death. It's about 6/7 years old now and unfortunately suffered a massive crack down the bottom of it (oops!)
  • Olympus Pen Camera - Having my DSLR all the time isn't the best. It's heavy, I have loads of lenses and a bit of a pain to capture quick shots for the blog. This is perfect. As small as a compact but as good as a DSLR
  • Notes Pegs - I'm forever losing important information, this is a great way to keep on top of it all.
  • Grey Peg Board - I love how adaptable this board is, I can make it for paperwork, important things and anything else that looks pretty!
  • Grown Ups Poster - I love this poster. It reminds me that life doesn't need to be boring.
  • Pilot V Signpen - I am a bit of a pen snob. Once I find a pen I love I will buy it for as long as I can get hold of it. When I got this pen I was amazed how easy it was to write with and how thick and bold my writing was.
  • Triangle Dotted Notebook - A perfect notebook for keeping at my desk so that I can jot down any ideas and sketch and shoot plans
  • Moleskine Notebook - Okay I am addicted to Moleskines. Like pens, when I find a brand I love I normally stick to them. This is perfect and hardwearing enough to throw in my bag and scurry any post ideas down on the go.

Wishlist Wednesday - Valentines For Him

With Valentines Day around the corner I thought I would put together some ideas for him and her that could be something different to the generic flowers and chocolates (not that those aren't a good idea too!). We always want to think outside the box when it comes to gift buying but sometimes these things aren't as easy as we thought so here are some starting points for ideas.

Scott is a bugger to buy for. He's either into expensive tech or asks for a wash set. It doesn't leave much for the imagination. So I scour the net and try and find things that he will love. Hopefully some of these items will be great for him as well as your man friends too.

Beer Bods Subscription - I bought this for Scott at Christmas and let me tell you, Thursdays are the new weekends. He absolutely loves cracking open his weekly beer, chatting away with other subscribers and finding new favourites.

Lush Dirty Springwash - The most iconic range for men in Lush is the dirty range. Scott loves this refreshing shower gel and let me tell you, I may have used it myself too!

Pebble Smartwatch - For the inner tech geek, this watch is one of the lower ends of the smart watches but it packs a punch. There seems to be lots of hubbub around this and its all screaming with positive reviews.

USB Mixtape - Gone are the days of tape decks and walkmans. With the rise in smartphones there's no room for a mixtape. That is until now. This USB mixxtape is great as you can load and reload song idea's to your hearts content. Though I don't think standing under a window with a smartphone and tiny speaker will have the same impact as it did on Say Anything!

Smart Phone Projector - Scott adores this. It's a build your own smartphone projector. The box unfolds and slots together with surprisingly easy instructions. The projection isn't massive but is great for us to lie in bed and watch something on the wall.

Beard Grooming Kit - Beards are all the rage. You don't want a scraggly one though so a grooming kit is a must. This one comes in a great little tin meaning that you won't ever lose it!

Seattle Seahawks NFL Tshirt - Yes they may have lost the Superbowl, but Scott would have killed me for posting any other team. The NFL is getting hot here in the UK. With games played over here and teams appearing all over it's time to jump on a team wagon and see what all the fuss is about. And let's face it, the kit looks a whole lot nicer than the UK football teams!

Native Union Phone Case - A phone case is a great way of personalising something that everyone has. This is great as it's understated yet classy. A bold statement for the man in your life.

Wednesday Wishlist - Valentines For Her

With Valentines Day around the corner I thought I would put together some ideas for him and her that could be something different to the generic flowers and chocolates (not that those aren't a good idea too!). We always want to think outside the box when it comes to gift buying but sometimes these things aren't as easy as we thought so here are some starting points for ideas.

I can put my hand up and admit that I am awful for presents. I never know what I want, always say "surprise me" and flat out refuse to give any ideas. It's more that I just don't know how much I should ask for and if I actually want it. But I love everything that I've put in this, so if you're reading Scott, here's some hints!

Vodka Infusion Kit - Homemade things are all the rage at the moment and each year without fail I try and make someone infused vodka as a present. This is a great starting kit for anyone that wants to give it a go!

Shake N Make Ice Cream Maker - I have the frozen yoghurt version of this, it's great and gives you a perfect helping of froyo that you can top to your hearts content. This is the same but for indulgent ice cream. Move over Ben and Jerry's!

Lush Lots Of Love - No female gift guide is complete without something from Lush. This combines all the best parts of their Valentine's range into a perfectly wrapped box. You don't even have to buy any paper!

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Camera - I LOVE my Instax. I try and document loads of aspects of our lives with it as it is perfect to pop in the bag and gives you a great nostalgic feel looking back at your photos.

Busy B Address Book - I am in desperate need for an address book and this range from Busy B is amazing. If you haven't checked out their site, it's full of practical yet gorgeous bits and pieces to use around your home.

Tea For Two Print - Neil is a great friend of mine, my place is dotted in his prints and this is a perfect gift for Valentine's. All you need is a frame to hang this gorgeous print!

Gossip Girl Mug - Who doesn't love a good Gossip Girl quote. This is one of the most iconic ones that is all about Blair's love for Chuck Bass. You can buy this, curl up and watch it all on Netflix.

Ted Baker Phone Case - I love a good phone case, I seem to change mine all the time to find something that I can spot in my bag or won't lose if Max runs off with it. This Ted Baker one is gorgeous yet not too over the top. The perfect combination.

Max's Festival Wishlist

Unfortunately we aren't off to any weekend festivals this year. More to the fact we couldn't afford it and we wanted to do a proper holiday instead. We are gutted we made this choice (obviously) and decided we are going to Victorious Festival for one day just to soak up the atmosphere!

Regardless here are some things we need for Max's next adventure to the great world of festivals.

Also there are some things that we as parents think are must haves for kiddo's

What are your kid essentials at festivals?

An Early Birthday Wishlist.

This month we are trying to be very good with our spending. We find that we normally drop money on things we don't need like DVD's and snacks so we are cutting all of that out in the hope that we can pay off some of our student overdrafts so we can start saving for weddings and houses.

So I now spend my time making wish lists of the things I want even more than before! My birthday is next month so I'm hoping that I've put this up here with enough time for Scott to see and get me something (wishful thinking)

  1. Belle Animator Doll - Growing up I always wanted to be Belle. I would spend my day with my head in a book, twirling round in a dress and singing to myself. Well things haven't changed and I'm pretty much exactly like that now! When we went to London we saw this doll and I fell in love with it. I'm adding it to my birthday list as I never had a Belle doll when I was growing up so I think I need one now.
  2. John Lewis Sewing Machine - Realising that I can't stitch everything by hand (well I can but some things take far too long!) I realised that I needed a sewing machine. This one is such a cute colour that I feel I need it. Unfortunately living in a tiny place, I have no place to house it or use it - though a friend did suggest using an ironing board as a table...
  3. Vans - My pair have conveniently decided to give up the ghost so I deserve a new pair after having them for nearly 18 months right? I know that my local Vans store give you £5 off if you trade in your old shoes so I may well have to do that if I don't find them wrapped up for me!
  4. The Comforter Treatment - The amount of times I've written that I want this I may as well pay for it myself! I've been dying for a good treatment at the spa and this is perfect!
  5. Vitamix Aspire - Okay this may seem boring but I love cooking. This is an amazing blender that manages to cook and create everything from soups to ice cream. I need it in my life!
  6. Ms Cupcake - After having a recipe book clear out I'm on the hunt for some new ones with recipes in that I will cook. I have been lusting over this book since it came in. Its gorgeous, and I want to eat it all.

Look Book: Rock Chic

Total - £477.99

The lovely Kat over at Rock And Roll Bride is hosting a competition to create a look book using only clothing from Simply Be and with a budget of £500. Being a bigger girl I find it hard to find affordable fashion to flatter my figure. This website is lovely and there are so many brands and designers on there that I'm quite in love with. I'm loving the studs and patterns this season (well for the past year or so!) so I have highlighted my favourites. And what a gorgeous colour the satchel is and the glitter headband is a score at only £7! Leggings are my staple wardrobe item, I hate trousers so I needed to add a few of them into my list and I've always wanted a peplum top but have never found one that looks right.
A while back one of my favourite websites (Zulily) asked me if I would write for them as a regular blogger. Being an avid reader and parent I now regularly contribute with book reviews for them to share with their audience.

But I don't just love them for publishing my work (that helps haha) but they have some amazing deals on their site. They run in a way that short sales are on for a few days at discount prices and end with new deals being added daily.

Now it's the run up to Christmas they have some amazing deals on at the moment that I wanted to share.

  1. Red Vintage Play Kitchen
  2. Dr Seuss Blue Cat In The Hat Top
  3. Felt Tree Advent Calendar
  4. Kurve Police Scooter
  5. Dr Who Dress Up
  6. Melissa and Doug Wooden Railway
  7. Trunki Liner
  8. Gruffalos Child Skittle Set
