Victorious Festival Sunday 2017

We were up bright and early on the Sunday to head back to Victorious Festival in Portsmouth. After hopping back on the park and ride and covering ourselves in sun cream, we were ready for day two and had a list of things that we wanted to do! After missing out on lots of things the day before due to leaving earlier than expected, we had a plan and were ready to get stuck in.

The ride was easy and we are definitely going to use it next time. At £6 a day, the park and ride made getting to and from the festival a breeze and also allowed us to park securely in an off site car park.

Victorious Festival Saturday 2017

Our final festival of the year was Victorious Festival. Situated on Southsea common in Portsmouth, Victorious is still in it's infancy, but is growing year on year. Last year we had an amazing time and couldn't wait to head back and see what was happening. This year, with a lineup including Olly Murs, Elbow and Stereophonics, we couldn't wait to get stuck in and see how much fun we could have!

5 Signs You've Found Your Mum Tribe

It's always been tricky for me to make mum friends. For me, I've either been scared of being judged, not had enough time to dedicate to the friendship or we've just simply drifted apart. I've also been burned more times than not when it comes to mum friends. I've got a handful that are fierce, that I've known since Max was little and whilst we may not see each other all the time, it feels like no time has passed when we do. But I've found my tribe, I've found those amazing women that I see every day, that I'm keeping hold of for as long as I can.

10 Tips to Surviving a Non Camping Family Festival

We love a festival, and are on our way to our third this weekend. Having said that, we are bigger fans of day festivals over camping ones. There's something about going home to your own bed each night that is such a comfort and luxury over sleeping in a tent (I'll happily be proven otherwise, but until I am, I'm sticking to it!).

Going to a day festival however leaves you with a whole other bag of dilemmas. With no tent to return to during the day, no changes of clothes readily available and no where but home to go when you're stuck for something to do, a day festival can be just as daunting as a camping one.

Alpine Adventure Park - Snowtrax

We love finding new places to explore and enjoy in our local area, especially ones that we can use all day and the kids love too. Recently a friend suggested we try the Alpine Adventure Park based at the back of Snowtrax ski centre, so we headed down with a picnic to see what it was like.

Mifold Car Seat Review

The problem with having only one child means that you only have one car seat. For us that becomes a real problem when it comes to last minute school pick ups, days out with friends or general car emergencies. Luckily the Mifold grab and go booster seat is on hand to give us that car boost we need.

Octo-Alert at Weymouth Sealife - Review

Max has been obsessed with sea life and marine life for as long as we can remember. With an uncle as a marine biology graduate, he's grown up learning about jellyfish and other critters that live in the sea. Last week me, Max and one of his friends were invited to the Sealife Adventure Park in Weymouth to check out some of their new areas and meet the Octonauts as part of their summer event.

Summer Events at Wyevale Garden Centres

Finding cheap things to keep the kids amused with in the summer holidays can be a real headache. It either costs a bomb, involves copious amounts of technology or leaves your house looking like a bomb site. That's where Wyevale Garden Centre comes into play with their Summer Holiday Events. We were kindly invited to attend one of their crafting events and their afternoon tea at one of our local centres to get out of the bad weather and have some fun.

The Treatment - July Reads

July was a slow month for books. In fact I only seemed to read two books the whole month. Despite trying and giving myself time to read, nothing really struck me and kept my attention. It may have been something to do with me handing my notice in at Waterstones, wanting to keep hold of all the books and savour them. Or it might have just been the fact we were rushed off our feet and we didn't stop.

Camp Bestival 2017 - Max's Review

It feels like Max is a bit of a festival pro. Having been to many each year since he was born (and in utero!), he loves to compare and enjoy each and every one of them no matter how big or small. This was Max's second Camp Bestival after last going when he was 2 years old. And whilst he swears he remembers the last time, this time we gave him the reins and let him create his ultimate festival day.

Camp Bestival 2017 - Grown Ups Review

We are a massive festival family. We love to soak in the atmosphere, listen to amazing music and don't mind getting stuck in the mud if the great British weather pours down. We were kindly invited to attend Camp Bestival with Dorset Cereals to celebrate the festivals 10th birthday.

We honestly couldn't wait to dance, sing and have as much fun as we had the last time we went. And with a cracking line up and my birthday to celebrate, we were counting down the days until we could go! I've decided to split my review into the grown ups one and the kid's one as Max has far too much to say about the festival!

The Truth About Raising a Baby

Having a baby is one of the best times of your life, bringing a child into a world that you will love and adore is something most people aspire to at some point in their lives. Having said that, most people don't seem to realise the hidden costs associated with babies. And more to the fact, the amount of nappies that you can go through in one year alone will have you reaching for the gin!
